Protecting the Ecology Around the Site
Minimised Impact
The location is on a brownfield site adjacent to an established industrial estate next to the River Haven. The purpose built on-site wharf means RDF will be delivered by sea & product produced at the site will be shipped away via the same method, ensuring the facility will have minimal impact on roads & infrastructure.
We are prioritising the welfare of native wildlife through investment in mitigation sites totalling 120 acres. A wildlife habitat will be established to offset any environmental impact of developing the site. We will create new, protected zones around the site for ecology & native wildlife. The size of the new protected area represents a significant biodiversity net gain.
This will be delivered via a Construction Environmental Management Plan, informed by a detailed assessment to identify the appropriate mitigation measures. The care taken around mitigation will ensure that the facility will not cause adverse ecological effects during either construction or operation. These measures will evolve as investigations & surveys are carried out.
